Josh and Brin Pflederer, and their three girls Gabriella, Ava and Mia, have been serving in Brazil as missionaries since November of 2006. From their time of arrival in Brazil until the end of 2010 they served with Xingu Mission, a church-planting mission working in the remote communities of the Xingu River, a tributary of the Amazon.
Prior to moving to Brazil Josh was a youth pastor at Northfield Christian Fellowship. During their time with the Xingu Mission his main responsibilities were the maintenance of the boats for the Altamira Base and participating in church planting through the Central church. He was also involved in helping the Central youth group in planning and leading special events. Brin is an RN and finds many ways to apply her skills, as well as focusing on her main responsibilities of homeschooling their daughters.
As of January 2011 the Pflederers have joined another organization called Asas de Socorro in which Josh will be applying his training as an aviation maintenance technician. Manaus, a city of 2 million, will be their home for the next couple of years as they adjust to their new ministry.
